Description

I wasn't aware of this nebula until it was suggested to me by one of the attendees at the Winter Star Party 2024 (40th Anniversary!) in the Florida Keys. I didn't really have the right rig for it there so I waited until I got home to shoot it with the observatory refractor.
This proved to be a challenging target. Barely discernible visually (even in an 18" telescope) it's a small, detailed target photographically in a busy star field in Gemini.
This object was thought to be a supernova remnant all the way up until 1980 where it was discovered that it's actually a planetary nebula.
This object is also in the Perek-Kohoutek catalog as PK 205+14.1
